of water in our gardens and homes, we can all help to make a difference.
Everyone can make big water savings in the bathroom by following the

How
can I do it?
Water companies
will often send you a hippo or similar water saving device. There is a

Smart
thinking
Flushing
the loo - 30% of household water.
A toilet uses on average 9 litres (2 gallons) of water each time it is
flushed. Put a reducing device such as a Hippo bag or flush saver in your
toilet cistern to reduce the amount of water flushed away. The bags fit
under the ballcock in the toilet cistern and save 3 litres of water each
time the toilet is flushed - the equivalent of 8% of total consumption.
Cleaning
your teeth
Most people clean their teeth at least twice a day. But if you leave the
tap running while you're polishing your molars, you can waste a lot of
water. Instead, leave the tap off while you brush your teeth and rinse
at the end with a mug of water. A family of four that changes the way
they brush their teeth can save up to 80 litres (18 gallons) of water
a day.
