This can be gathered to generate power, but methane is a greenhouse gas much more harmful to the ozone layer than carbon dioxide. If organic waste is incinerated with plastics it can combine with plastics to create furans and dioxins, toxic molecules which scientists claim contribute towards nappies. |

What can I do? Don't throw away or burn garden and organic refuse. Instead, make a compost heap of your garden and kitchen waste to get organic fertiliser for your plants. |
