Air travel: the facts

A return ticket to Australia contributes twice the amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as an average African will contribute in his/her lifetime.

Jet fuel is untaxed and is therefore much cheaper than other forms of energy - in effect, all air travel is subsidised.

The number of international air passengers worldwide rose from 88 million in 1972 to 344 million in 1994. Source: International Civil Aviation Organisation.

Scientists predict that by 2015, half of the annual destruction of the ozone layer will be caused by air travel.

What can I do?

Consider fewer holidays abroad in order to cut down on Air Travel
Consider traveling by Boat and Rail rather than by Air and Road

Neutralise the carbon dioxide emissions with Future Forest's carbon offset programme.

How can I do it?

Neutralise the carbon dioxide emissions by getting Future forests to plant trees to absorb the carbon you produce. If you can't do without it, neutralise it.

It's quick, it's simple, easy and costs a lot less than you imagine.

Smart thinking

Who are Future Forests?
Future Forests is an environmental task force. The basis is simple - trees absorb greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and convert it into oxygen and wood. Future Forests raises money in order to pay for tree planting, research, monitoring, auditing and management.
